Making mud bricks. The clayey mud is dug and mixed with waste household water to soften it. The wet mud is then shovelled in to a wooden brick mould. The mould is first dipped in water so that it easily slides off. The bricks are then left to dry and harden in the sun . When they are fully hardened and dry they are carefully stacked until they are used to build up the walls. Brick making can only be done during the dry season. Traditionally cattle dung was mixed in with the clay to make the bricks stronger, but if the walls are to be plastered with cement this is not done.
