Final Part of the Ceremony
After placing the protective necklace around the patient’s neck, the healer held up the pujah brass peacock oil lamp for her to pray to which she then returned to the household Buddha shrine.
The healer then gathered up the pujah remains.
The offerings were placed upstairs in the patient’s house. The healer received the coconuts and rice as part of his payment for performing this specialist curing ceremony.
The final stage was to give the patient a mug of herbal medicine to drink. This was like the morning one. He prepared this whilst chanting more curative mantras.
This was the end of the pujah. It was now 5pm.
Later the patient stated that this Sesanthi Pujah had made her feel much more relaxed. The chanted mantras were certainly hypnotic.
